Ella & Ashlynn

Hi, my name is Ella and I am fourteen years old. I was diagnosed with scoliosis in July of 2019 and have been participating in weekly Schroth physical therapy sessions since I was diagnosed. Currently, my curve does not require bracing and I am hoping the practice of the Schroth method will improve my chances of not having to get a brace.

My name is Ashlynn and I am 14 years old. I have been a dancer since I was 3. I love to spend time with my family and friends. In the winter I love to go skiing with my family, and in the summer I love to go swimming. I also love to tumble. I got diagnosed with scoliosis in August of 2018 with a 39-degree thoracic curve and a 27-degree lumbar curve. I was recommended a brace and to practice the Schroth physical therapy. It is now June of 2020 and I have gone through 4 braces, and with all of the hours I have spent in my brace and the time I spend doing my physical therapy my spine has not progressed! The doctors think I have about another year left in my brace but after that hopefully, I am done for good and I don’t have anymore progression.

I want to be a group leader because when I got diagnosed with scoliosis, I felt alone. I want to help other girls that feel this way, and show them that they are not alone and there are many girls that have scoliosis just like them. It is really important to spread awareness about scoliosis and I want to be contributing to that and this is a very big part of how I can support others and spread awareness.

I want to provide the support system that I had with other people. I want to support other girls because I know how valuable it has been to have such a great support system.
