Hi! My name is Lachlan. I am 13 years old and in 8th grade. I was diagnosed with scoliosis summer of 2021 and got a brace in August. I was in 7th grade at the time. I wear my brace 18 hours a day including when I go to school. I have an “S” curve with a larger upper curve. I am supposed to get my brace of at the end of the summer in 2023.

I run cross country for my school as well as play lacrosse. I also enjoy swimming, hanging out with friends, and going to the beach. I am also a member of a club at my school called “Kids for Kids.” We hold fundraisers and donate the money for children in need. 

I want to be a group leader to help other girls on their scoliosis journeys, as well as have them support me. I also want to give girls a chance to have someone to talk to and relate to. I believe we can all motivate each other and help each other get through this hard point in our lives. Helping other people get through tough times is an amazing feeling, It also helps you be a better person knowing that you changed someone’s life.
