Anna

Hi! I'm Anna, a high school senior in Charlotte, North Carolina. Outside of school, I've been playing soccer for over 12 years and am currently the captain of both my club and school teams. I love baking (my chocolate chip cookies are a go-to in my house!), babysitting, traveling with my family, walking my dog Gracie, and spending time with friends. I'm also very involved in school leadership and serve as the Senior Class President. Besides that, I participate and lead various service organizations and enjoy finding ways to make a positive impact on those around me.

I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 12 years old with three spinal curves, and one of them measured at 47 degrees. After deciding against surgery, I committed fully to wearing a Rigo Cheneau brace for 21 hours a day and completing scoliosis-specific physical therapy five days a week. It was a long and challenging process, both physically and emotionally, but over time I saw meaningful reductions in all three curves. The bracing experience was isolating at times, and although I had the support of my family and friends, I often wished I had someone who had gone through it before me, someone who could really understand.

That's why I wanted to become a Curvy Girls leader. I'm passionate about supporting others and being the kind of mentor I once needed; someone who listens, understands, and reminds girls that they're not alone in their journey.
