Stella
Hi! My name is Stella, and I was recently diagnosed with severe scoliosis and tethered cord syndrome. I will be undergoing spinal fusion surgery and tethered cord release. As a freshman in high school, it has been challenging to find other girls my age who understand what it is like to go through this.
I love spending time with my friends, figure skating, playing tennis, and listening to music. All of this helps me stay positive. This diagnosis has taught me a lot about strength, patience, courage, confidence, and resilience.
I want to be a Curvy Girls Group Leader because I know how much it means to feel supported when you are facing something as big as scoliosis. When I was first diagnosed, I felt scared and alone. Becoming a leader will give me the chance to help other girls feel less alone during their scoliosis journey and to remind them that they are stronger than they think. To me, being a group leader means creating a safe space where we can talk openly, celebrate small victories, and lift each other up through every stage of treatment and recovery.
