My name is Clare and I'm an 8th grader in Olympia, Washington, living with my parents and my dog. I love doing sports, including basketball, volleyball and soccer. I was diagnosed with scoliosis at the beginning of 2025 at a regular appointment where my doctor noticed a curve in my spine. They told me I would need to be fitted for a brace soon and that my mom would be getting a call about my fitting. We waited 3 months for a call that never came! My mom called and my doctors apologized, I was quickly sent to Seattle to get my brace. I started bracing in March of 2025 and I still currently wear a Boston brace.

I want to be a Curvy Girls group leader because when I started bracing I felt really anxious. The process felt very rushed to me and I didn't even know what scoliosis was when first told. I want to help other girls with their scoliosis journey because I think it's important to have someone to talk to that knows what you're going through!
